According to the Beaufort Police Department, the victim told authorities that two men in their late teens or early 20s pulled up in a black, Chevrolet ZR-71 pickup and began calling him names.
The parties exchanged words and one of the suspects got out of the truck and began to fight with the victim, according to authorities. Police say at some point during the altercation, one of the suspects went to the truck, got a knife and stabbed the victim in the scalp.
The suspects then drove off.
The suspects have not been identified, said Maj. Matt Clancy, police department spokesman.
