I don't know Beaufort County Councilwoman Laura Von Harten, but I think she has been crucified enough in your paper.

She has publicly apologized for her statements (critical of the Catholic Church), and I am sure she has learned a great lesson, not the least of which is how little compassion there is when you make one blunder.
The qualifications that put her into office did not just go "out the window" on one misstatement. So, leave the lady alone and let her do her job.
