Tanner returns to Shelter Cove for 20th year

This summer is Shannon Tanner's 20th performing at Shelter Cove Harbour on Hilton Head Island, but the longtime local musician shows no signs of slowing: He'll perform at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the harbor's outdoor amphitheater, and begin his regular schedule -- two shows Monday through Friday at 6:30 and 8 p.m. -- next week.

Tanner's performances, which are free and open to the public, serve as a highlight of HarbourFest 2008, a summerlong festival at Shelter Cove Harbour offering live music, special events, fireworks and more. "I'm proud to celebrate 20 years of offering family-friendly entertainment on Hilton Head Island," Tanner said. "My performances deliver a lighthearted and often humorous array of songs and stories for children and adults. It's a real thrill to see kids come back, year after year."
