The show boasts a cast and crew of more than 50 Sun City residents, directed by Wendell MacNeal, the nephew of Cab Calloway.
MacNeal said he chose the show for this summer's production because "Brigadoon is a place that is enchanting and magical and filled with love.Sometimes we need to escape reality to a place like Brigadoon, which brings us peace and tranquility, with a bit of magic."
Some Sun City residents will remember that "Brigadoon" became popular in the late 1940s, when it was made into a film starring Gene Kelly.
As the show opens, two American hunters -- played by Sam Rowan and Dan Kam -- come out of thick woods and thistle looking bewildered. They soon learn that the town of Brigadoon became enchanted centuries ago and remained invisible to outsiders -- except for one day every 100 years.
