'SNL' alum Brown to visit comedy club

Whitney Brown will appear at the Hilton Head Comedy Club this week. Brown's shows start at 9 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 2; additional shows will take place at 11 p.m. Aug. 1-2. 'Years' flying by at SCRC
The South Carolina Repertory Company's production of the comedy/drama "The Last Five Years," starring Matt Mundy and Peggy Trecker, continues this week with shows at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays (and Aug. 2) through Aug. 3 at the South Carolina Repertory Company, 136 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island.Tickets are $26 for adults and $24 for seniors on weeknights and matinees, and $28 for adults and $26 for seniors on Friday and Saturday nights. Bluffton arts camp adds final week
The Each Other's Muse Arts Camp has added a third and final week of programs from Aug. 4 to Aug. 8. All programs will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday and Friday; Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Tuesday and Thursday and half-day schedules are available. The camp is designed for youths between the ages of 6 and 16 interested in the visual and/or performing arts. Visual arts programs include painting with watercolors, acrylics, drawing, crafts, collage, jewelry making, working with clay, decoupage and mosaics. Performing arts programs include drama and creative movement, music and voice, dance, storytelling, creative writing and poetry. 'Terpsichore' tickets on sale now
Tickets are on sale for the Hilton Head Dance Theatre's upcoming production of "Terpsichore." The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1-2 and at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and will feature classical and jazz ballet. Tickets are $26 for adults and $16 for children 18 and under, and are available at the Arts Center box office or by calling 843-842-2787.The Arts Center will add a $5 facility fee to the cost of each ticket.
'Beauty' on display on Main Street
The Main Street Youth Theatre's production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" continues at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 10 at the Main Street Theater, 3000 Main St., Hilton Head Island. May River Theatre heats up the stage

Elks Lodge hosts charity dinner
The Hilton Head Island Elks Lodge is hosting a Christmas in July Turkey Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. July 25. Cost is $15 per person; all proceeds go to Victory House in Walterboro. Honey Horn hosts 'Apple Pie' painters
The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn will feature the "Apple Pie Painters: Inspired by Honey Horn" in the Hilton Head Regional Healthcare Temporary Exhibit Gallery through Sept 2. The six original members of the Apple Pie Painters -- Vickie Ebbers, Mary Kelly, John Norlander, Liz Rufenacht, Barb Snow and Peter Hadfalvi -- are celebrating their 10th year of painting together. The group now numbers nine, with the addition of Marilyn Dizikes, Judy McElynn and Alex Sharma three years ago. The hours at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Sandbox offering parent/child classes
The Sandbox, An Interactive Children's Museum, offers Parent and Child classes free with admission on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for children 2 1/2 to 4 and their caregivers. The theme for the month will be Pasta Play days. The Pasta Play days will be July 23 and July 30. Registration is required. Space is limited.
