Hilton Head Dance Theatre staging 'Peter Rabbit,' 'Terpsichore' at school
"Peter Rabbit," a one-act ballet based on the tales of Beatrix Potter, will be presented by the Hilton Head Dance Theatre at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m. May 17 and 2 and 4 p.m. May 18 at Hilton Head Island High School. In addition, the school is hosting "Terpischore, Too," featuring students from the Hilton Head Dance School, at 7:30 p.m. May 16-17 at Hilton Head Island High School. Ascensions perform at Providence
Providence Presbyterian Church will host a benefit concertby gospel quartet the Ascensions at 7 p.m. Saturday at 171 Cordillo Parkway.Funds raised at the concert will benefit the Deep Well Project of Hilton Head Island. The concert will be in Providence's sanctuary. There is no cost for admission, and donations will be taken at the close of the program.
Galli show to benefit Hospice Care
Local singer Carole Galli will release her new CD of jazz and sacred songs with a concert that will benefit Hospice Care of the Lowcountry at 8 p.m. May 19 at the Coligny Theatre. Tickets are $35 for one admission and one CD, or $50 for two admissions and one CD. May River auditioning for 'Sugar'

'Night Music' coming to high school
Hilton Head Island High School's Out of the Blue Chorus, directed by Larry Mercer and featuring guest vocalist Dan Gibson, will perform "More than a Little Night Music" at 7:30 p.m. May 24 in the high school's Visual and Performing Arts Center. A live orchestra, including Mercer on piano, will accompany the singers in a specially created cabaret setting. Corvette show comes to Bluffton
A show by Corvettes of Hilton Head will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Bluffton High School parking lot. The car show is open to all makes and models of classic cars as well as motorcycle clubs. The cost is $20 to enter your car for judging. Spectators admission is free.
