The board of directors of the Beaufort County Association of Realtors last week decided it would endorse Tom Davis in the race for Senate District 46.
Davis, who resigned his post as Gov. Mark Sanford's chief of staff, will face incumbent Sen. Catherine Ceips for the Senate Seat in a June 10 Republican primary.
The board's decision was based on Davis' "history of taking on the difficult issues that are important to our county and getting positive results," according to a press release from the group.
