HHSO puts on a 'Hollywood Revue' under the stars
For three nights this week, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Mary Woodmansee Green, will once again provide an evening of light classical and pops programming performed outdoors at Shelter Cove.

taking place from Tuesday through Thursday,will be highlighted by a "Hollywood Revue" consisting of music from popular movies, Disney classics and a number of stage, screen and television favorites.
The orchestra will perform the music of "Star Wars" and other worksby John Williams, the music of Cole Porter and Louis Prima, a tribute to Walt Disney, music from "The Wizard of Oz" and much more.
Featured performers includebaritone and Hilton Head Island native Keith Phares and his wife, Patricia Risley, who has sung with the Metropolitan Opera, Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Madrid's Teatro Real and Munich's Bayerische Staatsoper, among many others.
Tickets can be purchased for $60 per person or $600 for tables of 10.
The picnic area will open at 6 p.m.; the concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

'Carmina Burana'
The HHSO continues a busy spring with two performances of "Carmina Burana," Carl Orff's settings of lusty poems on life, love, and wine written by medieval wandering scholars, which will comprise the group's April concerts.
Hilton Head soprano Laura Sutton Floyd, tenor Nathaniel Roper, baritone Thad Shirey, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus, I Cantori and the Bluffton Elementary School Chorus will join the orchestra in the ninth Master Series concert, which takes place April 7 at First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head. The program will also be presented April 5 at the Bluffton High School. Both performances will begin at 8 p.m. For information, call the HHSO at 843-842-2055.
