[an error occurred while processing this directive]• I accidentally took two Island Packets from Walgreens yesterday when I only paid for one.
• Sometimes I write things in my day planner so it doesn't seem so empty.
• I tell people my favorite author is Ernest Hemingway, when really it's Michael Crichton.
• I used to work backward through Choose Your Own Adventure novels just to get Batman to the ending I most desired.
• I write "Make To-Do List" at the top of my to-do list so I can immediately feel a sense of gratification.
• When homeless people ask me for change, I pretend I don't speak English. And if they speak Spanish, I say, "What's that over there?" and point. And when they look, I run away.
• I stretch the five-second rule to at least seven seconds.
• I like the taste of Crayons.
• I was chosen to go to the Young Author's Conference in third grade based on a story I wrote that was entirely plagiarized from an
episode of "Garfield and Friends."
• I threw a spelling bee in the fifth grade,
because I was tired of being the nerd spelling kid. Turns out I was still the nerd spelling kid,
I just didn't have a cool ribbon.
• My favorite part of the third-grade spelling bee wasn't winning. It was watching Eric Bitzegaio, the favorite to win and all-around kid genius, turn bright red and cry. Cry for hours. Cry while he was eating his second-place M&Ms in his Cosby sweater and turtleneck. Sweet victory.
