Shortbread-Pecan Fingers

Makes: 3 dozen.
½ cup butter or margarine,
softened
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Sifted powdered sugar
Cream butter; add 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, and beat at medium speed with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add flour and vanilla, mix well.
Fold in pecans.
Shape dough into 1 ½- by ½-inch fingers; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove to wire racks and let cool
10 minutes. Roll in additional powdered sugar.
Place on wire racks to cool completely.
