BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
•The Dolphin Pride Marching Band 2008 Band Camp continues today through Friday
•Guard/Percussion Camp is Monday through Aug. 1 for guard and drumline only. Mini camp for all members is Aug. 15.
BEAUFORT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•Faculty and staff days are Thursday through July 29.
•The school year will kick off with a Back-to-School Barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Seagull CAFé.

THOMAS HEYWARD ACADEMY
Thomas Heyward Academy's top five graduates are James Lane, valedictorian; Howard Mufuka Jr., salutatorian; Jacob Ellis Baker, third; J. Blake Carroll, fourth; and Whitney Sewell, fifth ranked.
James is a son of Jamey and Theresa Lane, of Beaufort. He plans to major in business economics while playing football for Wofford College.
Howard is a son of Howard and Eddies Mufuka, of Gardens Corner, and plans to major in biology at the University of South Carolina Columbia then continue his education in medicine to become a cardiologist.
Jacob is a son of Jimmy and Elaine Baker, of Ridgeland. He plans to major in business and minor in sports management.
Blake is a son of John and Sherry Carroll, of Hardeeville. He plans to study pre-veterinary science at the University of South Carolina Columbia.
Whitney is a daughter of Dolph and Willa Sewell, of Ridgeland She plans to major in nursing at Clemson University.
