INTERCESSION AT YMCA

Fall into Intercession for preK through seventh grade continues from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday at the Wardle Family YMCA, Port Royal.
Activities include Halloween and seasonal arts and crafts, field trip, swimming, rock climbing wall, nature walks, gym games and activities and more. Please bring lunch and snack. The cost is $85 per child for YMCA members. Details: 843-522-9622.
PALS INTERCESSION
Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services will offer intersession camp from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Friday at the Port Royal Center, 1514 Richmond Ave., Port Royal.

BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
•The Dolphin Pride Marching Band will play Friday at the football game. Details: 843-322-5570.
•The National Honor Society meets at 2:45 p.m. Monday in Room C218.
BEAUFORT ACADEMY
•Fall Festival is from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Thursday.
•The second annual Alumni Soccer Game begins at 5 p.m. Thursday.
•The lower school costume parade is Thursday.
•Lower school parent-teacher conferences are Friday. There will be no school for lower school students.
•Nine students at Beaufort Academy earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams.
At Beaufort Academy, nearly 10 percent of the high school students earned designations as AP Scholar: One student -- Tommy Keane -- qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Eight students -- Kaitlyn Becker, Mike Beckwith, Elissa Dailey, Mary Whit Danielson, Bryce Ferry, Richard Malinowski, Kelsey Rentz and Keaton Speights -- qualified for the AP Scholar by completing three or more AP Examinations, with grades of 3 or higher.
BEAUFORT MIDDLE SCHOOL
•Caroline Campbell, Ausha Manokey and Angela Jenkins will travel with Hilton Head Island athletes to Anderson to participate in the South East Regional Special Olympic Tennis Tournament, Friday.
•Parents should ask students for the Friday Facts sheet.
•Homeroom teachers have information about community service and forms for verifying the service.
E.C. MONTESSORI SCHOOL
•Due to inclement weather, E.C. Montessori's Fall Family Harvest has been rescheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Charles Street Gallery. The school will celebrate 35 years with a chili cook-off, a pumpkin decorating contest and a costume contest. Chili tasting will start at 6 p.m. The event is open to friends and family of current or former students. Alumni are encouraged to attend. Details: 843-521-0181.
JOSEPH J. SHANKLIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•Students will not attend school today through Friday for Extending Learning.
LADY'S ISLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL
•Extended Learning Time is today through Friday. Students not invited will be on Fall Break.
•There is no school Nov. 4 due to Election Day. The office will be open.
MOSSY OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•Fall intersession continues through Friday.
•School resumes Monday.
ROBERT SMALLS MIDDLE SCHOOL
•Extended Learning Days are from 7:20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today through Friday Oct. 31.
•Intersession continues through Friday. Students return to school Monday.
•Orange Crush T-shirts are on sale in the main office for $6.
•Football players, parents and coaches are selling discount cards which feature 15 area businesses. The $10 purchase of each card supports the school's athletic department.
SHELL POINT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•Fall intercession continues through Friday.
•Students return to school Monday.
•There is no school for students Tuesday because of Election Day.
•Primary MAP Testing for kindergarten through first grades is Monday through Nov. 18.
•ITBS/CoGAT Testing for second grade only is Monday through Nov. 18.
THOMAS HEYWARD ACADEMY
•The Parent Teacher Organization of Thomas Heyward Academy presented the school library with a $938 check for the purchase of a projector for power-point presentations, as well as a presentation stand. These items had been on the "wish list" for the faculty and library. Teachers will now be able to create presentations for use in their classrooms, and will also be able to teach students how to create their own.
