•The school's Philharmonic Society, featuring the BCHS Varsity Singers, will present "A Christmas Carol" concert at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church, 2209 Boundary St. Admission is free and open to the public.

•This week is Spirit Week at the school. Students are encouraged to dress up each day this week.
JOSEPH J. SHANKLIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•The Parent-Teacher Organization and the School Improvement Council will meet Friday. The PTO will meet at 3:45 p.m. in the office conference room, and the School Improvement Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Media Center.
LADY'S ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•The fifth-grade classes will go on a field trip to the S.C. Aquarium on Wednesday.
LADY'S ISLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL
•There will be a band parent meeting in the band room from 7 to 7:30 p.m. today.
•Progress reports go home with students Friday.
PORT ROYAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•A "Dough Raiser" will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Pizza Inn. All tips, donations and
10 percent of the evening's sales go to the Port Royal Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization.
ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC SCHOOL
•The Parent-Teacher Organization meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Walsh-Palmetto Room.
•The boys and girls basketball teams kick off their season Dec. 9 at Cross Episcopal. The girls' game is at 5:30 p.m., and the boys play at 6:30 p.m.
SHELL POINT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
•An "Ornament Night," sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization, is in the school cafeteria Thursday.
•The School Improvement Council meeting is from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday in the media center.
