A Beaufort man was jailed Saturday after police say he smashed the windshield of his girlfriend's car with a shovel during an argument.
Terry Darrell, 45, of Fifth Street was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and charged with malicious injury to real property after he smashed the windshield of his girlfriend's Chevy Cobalt with a shovel, causing an estimated $700 in damage, according to a Sheriff's Office report.
Darrell's girlfriend told deputies that the argument was over her family coming into town to help her move from Beaufort to Alabama, the report said.
Darrell was released Sunday on a $1,092.50 bond.
