More than 1,000 homes were without power in Port Royal for about an hour Thursday.

According to a spokeswoman from SCE&G, a tree limb fell on a power line about 8 p.m. and put about 1,275 homes in the dark. Power was restored by 9 p.m.

Port Royal Fire Department was called to a blown transformer and, in another part of town, a sparking wire, said Lt. Dan Brown, spokesman for Beaufort Fire Department. No one was injured.
