The International Junior Golf Association liked its first visit to The Legends at Parris Island so much that they're making a return trip this weekend.

The IJGA, based out of Hilton Head Island, is one of the leading junior golf associations in the country with 2,000 members. They held a stop for the first time at Parris Island last year.

"I really like the golf course," IJGA Director of Tour Administration and International Competitions Travis Lesser said."All the trouble's in front of you. There's no tricks or blind shots."

The players also seemed to like the course with 90 of golf's future stars competing in the Parris Island stop.

"It's one of those things where not too many people know about (the course) because it's on a base," Lesser said. "It gives a great test to them."

The 90 competitors will be divided into five groups based on age and gender. There will be three divisions for boys (16-19 year old, 13-15 year olds and 12-and-under) and two for girls (13-19 year olds and 12-and-under).

Last year's event ended with a playoff for the top boys age division between George Thacker and Roberto Nassalli Rocca with Thacker winning on the first playoff hole.

Jordan Meltzer won the boys 13-15 age group last year with Woody Woodward victorious in the 12 and under division. Feng Shan Shan won the girls division.

The tournament begins Saturday at 8 a.m. with golfers teeing off from the first and 10th holes. The final round will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday.
